A thousand years of devotion have produced outstanding
artistic results, usually hosted in churches, abbeys, museums and collections of
sacred art.
Paintings
Dozens are the canvas and tableaus held in our
churches and museums. Most of them are paintings by minor artists, but
always works of high quality and outstanding artistic significance. Works
such as Masaccio’s triptych, instead, deserve the highest interest.

Sculpture
The most relevant works of art of this type of
artistic creation, are the big pieces of glazed earthenware by artists
such as the Della Robbias and their pupils (Matteo Buttiglioni). Some
valuable pieces are housed in the churches of Vallombrosa,
Pomino and Castiglioni.
