Getting around by train

Trains are one of the cheapest and most efficient means of transportation: they take you to the very centre of Florence, avoiding traffic or parking problems. Almost all local trains allow the carriage of bicycles > bike+train

Journey times:
  FIRENZE
start - Santa Maria Novella (Florence city center)
7' - Campo di Marte
11' - Rovezzano
16' Compiobbi
20' SIECI - ticket 20 km
25' PONTASSIEVE - ticket 30 km
Some trains do not call at intermediate stations, taking only 20 minutes from Florence to Pontassieve.

At Pontassieve the line splits in two branches:
linea Nord > Borgo San Lorenzo - Marradi - Faenza - Ravenna
35' RUFINA - ticket 30 km
38' SCOPETI - ticket 40 km
43' CONTEA-LONDA - ticket 40 km
47' DICOMANO - ticket 40 km
  linea Sud > Arezzo
31' SANTELLERO - ticket 30 km
36' RIGNANO SULL'ARNO - ticket 30 km
43' INCISA - ticket 40 km
59' FIGLINE VALDARNO - ticket 50 km
Some trains do not call at intermediate stations, taking only 41 minutes from Florence to Figline Valdarno. But if you get on at Figline Valdarno, we recommend to use fast speed trains:
linea Sud > Arezzo - Roma (fast speed trains)
23' FIGLINE VALDARNO - ticket 50 km
